I went down to smart center Laguna Niguel with my father today. He was interested in driving one as well. The shift time has improved over previous smart vehicles I have driven. It's important to remember it is an automated manual transmission, not a automatic. It does still lurch between shifts but you will quickly get used to it. What I thought was wind buffeting of the freeway was actually the skinny tires feeling the grooves in the freeway. That would be improved with different sized rims, I have a set of Brabus on order from Canada. Is it refined enough for the US public? Only time will tell! Aaron Lephart

This is my first post here and wanted to ask you about your comment above. I too wanted to purchase a brabus rims/tire, preferably the 16" wheels. So where did you order those brabus rims and tires from in Canada. It will probably be another 2 months before I get my smart car( i hope, 1199) but I wanted to order those set now just to get them ready. Thanks. Reggie

Thanks for the prompt reply. Went to the site and I must say those are some nice looking accessories. That site was like a candy store, nothing but good stuff

Don't count on BRABUS parts coming to the USA officially anytime soon. Until then you will have to source parts from Canada or the UK. Where there is a will.......... Aaron Lephart
