Just wanted to say "Hi" to all my fellow Hoosiers! I'm waiting for my smart, it will be an 09 and just love this car. I go for a "test" drive every time I'm in Indy; 2 rides so far and hopefully many more before I have my own. Let us know the Hoosier smarties are doing!

No nothing. Just made my reso last month! #1476, so I'm just ASSUMING it will be an 09! Of course I'm sure you know what ASSUME does!

Wanted to add on my last post; the reso DID say "reserve your 2008 smart". That little tidbit has since been removed from the website. I'll just have to wait and see!

Are you on the orphan list? You maybe able to purchase one this year. I like to see a Smart car as the pace car this year at Indy.

Yea, That would be cool! YES, I'm on the orphan list, but I'm very selective about what I want. I don't want to take one just to take one. I really have no problem waiting for MY order since I really don't want to take possession until the end of this year or early next year. AND, I hope all the "bugs" are worked out by then!

I really haven't heard of any bugs. There are a few problems with a few of the cars out there but nothing major. One guys tailgate woundn't open and the dealer replace the switch.

The only thing that would bum me out is if in MY 2009 there are significant differences in fuel mileage. Allot of people seem to think MHD will be available. It will have no effect of hwy MPG but could bring the city (where it needs it most IMO), up 2-3MPG. Also talk of a candy apple red metallic and possibly BRABUS accessories brought in as a "mid year update" to the smart line. By then I should have most everything BRABUS I want. I saw BRABUS accessories in the smart house in L.A. 6 months ago; I don't understand why there is a delay. All the best, Aaron Lephart

Well it's SEMI official. reso#1476, estimated delivery date = April - June 2009, so it WILL be an 09! Cruise? MHD? True hybrid? Time will tell!!!!!! wizard of ahs wrote: No nothing.
