A member of this or another smart forum posted a detailed process, with photos, for the installation of a Doug Thorley dual tip exhaust. Now I can't find it. Has anyone seen this post, and remember where?
Many thanks,
Louis

Any other thoughts? How is the sound?
The BPP exhaust cracked 102db in some testing I saw firsthand. It sound THAT loud?
All the best,

102db. . .hmm. . .maybe that loud. depends on the rpm, load. definitely louder than stock. led zeplin performed at 120db, may account for some hearing loss. I'm 72, volume is tolerable to me. Lovely sound, in fact, but my background includes building and racing street and dragstrip cars. At flat out, my wife says it roars; I say,no, it purrs. Maybe I'm not the right person to pose this question to. But I can tell you, a large boost in performance at any speed. Full increase begins at about 2000rpm. And beautiful appearance and construction.

Did you get the center exhaust exit version (if its out) or the conventional exit?
All the best,

I think that my side exhaust DTH sound has mellowed and is quieter after a couple thousand miles. But, then again, I could have just gotten used to it.
Installation took me between 1 1/2 and 2 hours. (I'm a rank, unexperienced amateur when it comes to exhaust systems.) Here are a few notes I posted on the SCOA board after my install in the hope that they may be of help to others:
I followed the lead of others and did not remove the top bolts on the heat shield. While it did make it a tighter squeeze to get out the others, it avoided the potential problems that have been reported with over-torqued factory bolts on the heat shield that break off when you try to remove them.
Leaving the heat shield in place, I found that there wasn't enough room to get my e-sockets in there but was able to break free the bolt with the 5/16" ratchet wrench for the heat shield bolt attached to the stock muffler and the 3/8" ratchet for one of the cat/muffler bolts. For the other one cat/muffler bolt, I had to put on the box end wrench and grab the open end with my needle nose vise-grips to get enough leverage to finish breaking it loose. A switch to the regular box end wrench completed the loosening of the first one, because there wasn't room to get my particular ratchet (craftsman) to click to a new ratchet position.
The tip about using channel locks to squeeze the muffler hangers through the hanger rubbers made that a simple task after the liberal application of WD-40. (Sorry I don't remember who suggested this, they deserve a hand.)
I did use the bolts supplied by DT, liberally coated with locktight, and the 12mm socket with 1/4" drive for the new installation. (The larger drive wouldn't have fit in the space.)

Mine sounds louder after 2500 miles (10,000 total on the passion), but I'm wearing a hearing aid on right ear. I went down under to check for exhaust leak, as has been reported on other forums. There was none.

From what I've read on other forums, the "leak" problem has been confined to a broken weld (I think it was near the hanger bracket) on the dual center DTH exhausts. So far, I haven't come across any reports of problems with the DTH single tip side exhausts.
