I did a search (SNOW) nothing came back, my question is about the general handling we can expect in the rain and snow, how important is tire selection, etc,,,Thanks Gene.

I can only speak of limited time in snow but we do get rain out here often this time of year. Generally speaking I think the smart car handles better then any vehicle I have owned in the rain. Thats FWD and RWD together. The RWD cars have mostly been Corvette's and the FWD Pontiac Grand Prix's. I think its the fact that the tires are so skinny that it helps avoid hydroplaning. In snow hoever I would run snow tires. I believe tire rack has cheap snow tires for the smart car if I remember correctly. I would also get a set of steel rims of a pure model smart car and keep your winter tires on those. Good luck! All the best, Aaron Lephart
