Well it was finally time to change the plugs per the smart manual. It was less difficult then I thought. The biggest issue I had was taking the 10mm bolt that holds the coil on the spark plug off the cylinder closest to the passenger. There are vent hoses coming from the valvecover that goes to an air valve. I imagine it's part of the vehicles PCV system. Rather then use a socket I had to use a wrench. And with 5-7 degree's of movement with the wrench it took a while. Once that was completed I changed the oil. After the car was put back together I noticed alot smoother shifting. Not sure how that comes into play but that is what I found. Just a couple tips. When removing the coil packs from the engine the center coil does not have to be disconnected from the wiring harness. I found using 2 three inch socket extensions the perfect comes for getting down the spark plug sockets. I would put the spark plug socket on 1 extension and lower it into place. I would then take the ratchet with the other extension already on it and connect them. I will update this if I see a dramatic difference in MPG. This tank I am holding steady at 34.9MPG.
