I swapped my spare rear rims and tires and put them up front. This has been a popular upgrade among smart car owners. It totally changes the oversteer bias to a slight understeer bias. And on more then one occasion the front wheels actually slid around a corner. I am playing with the air pressure now to see if that can be improved. To early to say how I life it longterm. All the best, Aaron Lephart

I was wondering why they put stagered wheels on such a small car in the first place. I think if I were to buy aftermarket wheels, I would buy the rear first and see how I liked having all four wheels the same width.

OK played with the pressure, did'nt help much. Makes the car handle a bit odd. And stability control kicks in more often now. I did notice these rims/tires add about 7lbs to the rotating mass, that could explain things. MPG went down about 2! All the best, Aaron Lephart

OK I am confident in saying the MPG went down by 2 MPG. Going to play with the air pressure again and raise it to the maximum rating and try again. All the best, Aaron Lephart

I ended up going back to the standard front rim size. Hard to explain but a low speeds it would actually kick in stability control and wash out a bit on the front end. It also affected the MPG by about 2MPG less. The happy medium may be the smart BRABUS wheels and suspension. Acceleration was slower as yet another downside. The only positive I had was stability at freeway speeds was improved. All the best, Aaron Lephart
