I drove it when they had a test drive event at the local mall (Irvine Spectrum) parking lot. It was not that fun to drive for me, it was slow and buzzy. Certainly not like a Mini if that's it's closest competitor in terms of size. I like that you can park two of them in one parking spot. Fuel mileage wasn't that great either based on their estimates, not anything better than you can't get from larger, safer, more comfortable cars like the Honda Fit or Toyota Yaris. The size and feel of it did not inspire confidence for California freeways that are loaded with Hummers. I think it will sell the first year or two on it's cuteness but won't be able to sustain. It would be great to buy a dealership and then sell it off before the fad dies.

Hello everyone----the following is a post about the smart car I left on the SLK board Alephart requested I repost here-----> "My neighbor works for Road & Track and I was able to drive one Monday night. My perceptions: good fit and finish-----decent support on the seats (maybe better than our SLK's)-----sitting height about right-----so/so acceleration, it did make it up a steep hill without getting run over by the cars behind me-----transmission will take getting used to because it has a very noticeable lag between shifts-----overall it will sell originally because it is unique and different, but like the Crossfire it will quickly die-----> for $1500 more a Yaris would be a much better purchase and unless I had a death wish I would never take this thing out on a SoCal freeway !"
