Widely reported. Nice to know the smart car exceeds the 35MPG NOW!

My wife makes five trips to town a week , 42 miles round trip and uses 4 gallons of gas a  week, that is 52 mpg.  She travels down a two lane highway 55 mph most of the way to work, no stop signs or lights and very little traffic. Car has 2,500 miles on it.  We are very happy with our Smart car mileage.

52MPG is great! I get that with a 250cc bike!
