OK for the water bill. Was $26.00 down to $21.00 with the replacement of shower head with a low flow model. It should be known that because of my workout routine I can take up to 3 showers a day, so this will really help. All the best, Aaron Lephart

What type of showerhead? I have had real good luck with the Oxygencs shower head, It give a real good pressure spray due to its design, but still is one of the most efficient models I have ever seen. http://www.oxygenics.com/landing.html

Wow, I thought the Oxygenics was the only one with a 1.5gpm shower head. Seems like a different way of getting a better shower with less effort. They talk about larger droplets for heat retention. Mine, on the otherhand, breaks up the water into a bunch of finer droplets which hit with force. I do think you may have to add a littel more heat to the shower to get the same temperature that way, but my gas bill without the rider fee, and taxes is $5/month in the months I am not using the heater. I have also replaced the toilets with Pressure Assisted models, one is a Crane Economizer and the other an American Standard Cadet PA. Both use the Sloan Flushmate system. My Washer is a 12 gallon per load front loader by Frigidare.

I want lower GPF toilets but these I have now are 1.6 and it's not worth the effort to go 1.3. Besides that, its just me in the house. All the best, Aaron Lephart

OK the madness has officially hit nutty levels. I swapped out the harddrive in my desktop PC to a Solid State Drive (SSD) not only does it have amazing performance but consumes a tenth of the power as the spinning disk type drives. I doubt I will see a difference in the electric bill. When it came time to finally build a computer for the garage to surf the net, stream dance music from Europe, view instructions for car projects etc, a shuttle mini XPC was my first choice. I have built at least 30 of these mini computers for my previous employer. When I heard of a model released that only consumes 36watts at full load. I had to jump on it! It comes barebones and just needs CDROM, RAM, HDD to complete! Of course for the harddrive I went solid state and now the PC draws 30watts at full load! The model is the Shuttle X27. With a Intel Atom CPU running @ 1.6Ghz don't expect the world. But it will display medium quality (480line) video with no problem! Of course, you know that if we get rid of all of the CO2 emisions, we will all be dead. No CO2, No plants.

OK I suppose it was my fault. Remember SETI? That program that looks at signals from a telescope in Puerto Rico and tries to match them up for a foreign signal? Well I have been involved with it donating my spare computer time since 1999. And recently I upgraded my parent’s computer with a high dollar graphics card to help with the quest. Doing so now brought our account to the #25 ranking for all the computers active in the program. This with increased A/C usage brought my parents electric bill to $250.00 last month! WOW! My Dad had been talking about solar for awhile and I had been interested for years. When someone called out of the blue a week ago we decided to check it out. Now they are set to have a 12 Sharp solar panels producing 2400watts, PV Powered PVP3500 solar inverter that is grid tied that should help with the bills! I will post pictures as the progress continues. I know the whole SETI idea seems like a waste of energy but a remote chance is better then nothing. Besides my Dad finds joy in it. All the best, Aaron Lephart

A more up to date electric bill. Remember I have yet to get solar of my own. It would be for resale value, not to save money.![]() And the most recent bill from the parents house hit $12.00 with solar, big difference in what they use to pay! Of course this is pre A/C use come summer. All the best, Aaron Lephart

I revised the MPG chart on the first page to add the Brammo electric motorcycle! Revised the MPG chart yet again to reflect oiling the Brammo chain and adjusting the tire pressure to spec. The previous owner had not done so. Went from .60 to .30! <5-29-10> All the best, Aaron Lephart
