Welcome to the birth of a whole new idea and attitude that precedes the debut of a car that is poised to change the car industry. Welcome the smart car! A micro car that has been available in Europe since 1998 but not until the current rise in gas prices has it been thought that the public in the USA would adopt it. What's the website name mean? 451 has to do with the model number designated to it by the manufacture. For instance, internally GM calls the Corvette the "Y" body, Mercedes calls the SLK the R171. smart had another model that was before the current body called the 450. The 451 spec smart car is the cars official debut into the USA. You may have seen this car before on the road, and if you have those where a conversion or "grey market" car that was converted to meet USA standards. As the January debut gets closer I am excited to bring other smart car owners together in a forum environment that this car deserves!
